The reasons behind female hair loss can range from pregnancy, stress and certain medications to vitamin deficiencies, hormonal changes, and traction alopecia, i.e. because of pulling and tension from weaves, extensions, and braids.

Female Pattern Hair Loss
Female Pattern hair loss typically occurs with hair loss at the top and front of the head. About 75% of all female will experience some form of hair thinning or balding before the age of 40. Those who are less fortunate can face hair loss at the age of 21. There is no definite cure for female baldness or hair loss except for prevention, being more gentle with your hair and maintenance.

In an effort to gain a better understanding of the world around us, we have recently begun to use a new technique to investigate the organization and functionality of the diverse parts of our experimental model. We are currently looking to expand this work by collaborating with other labs who have the facilities and prior experience to investigate this project further.
